In the past few years, Nanhai Studio played a pivotal role in creating opportunities for communication and cultural interaction between Australia and China. In January 2020, Nanhai Studio’s media experts have created several high-quality video pieces for various individuals and organisations, including Chinese influencer Karlie and City of Sydney.
Karlie Zhong, our featured Chinese influencer who has more than 70,000 followers on different channels, released a vlog named “Say goodbye to my 2019 and welcome the new 2020” in January. In this vlog, she reviewed her key changes in 2019 and made her wish for 2020.
This vlog attracted more than 50,000 views and approximately 2000 likes from RED book, Douyin (Chinese version of TikTok) and other Chinese social media. In this vlog, Karlie has reviewed some great achievements from her 42 vlogs made in 2019, like endorsement for global brands such as La Mer and Julique, and how did she grow her fan base from zero to more than 70,000 in less than a year.
The Lunar New Year is highly valued for both Chinese and Australian, our Chinese audiences appreciate the content relevant to the concepts of China, which are also a heated topic for Australians due to their favour of Chinese culture. Many Chinese international students and a large number of Chinese Australians cannot go back to their hometown during the spring festival.
Therefore, Nanhai Studio filmed the launch event of the infamous 12 Zodiac Lunar Lanterns, which is an iconic celebration for Sydney Lunar Festival from City of Sydney. The production team used techniques including time-lapse photography and fast motion to capture each enlarged Zodiac Lantern, to create the fast-paced style and a modern look of the traditional Chinese symbols. Claudia Chan Shaw, the designer of robot rats, gave positive remarks to this video clip and forwarded it on to her Instagram.
